On 23 January 2020, a roundtable titled “The New EU Strategy on Central Asia: New Prospects for Synergies and Closer Cooperation between European Union and Turkey in the Region” was held at AVİM. The roundtable was attended by the EU Delegation headed by the EU Special Representative for Central Asia Ambassador Peter Burian, Turkish academics and AVİM analysts. The EU’s renewed approach to Central Asia and the main aspects of the EU’s Central Asia strategy adopted in May 2019, the ways that the new strategy could be implemented, and the ways in which EU and Turkey may cooperate in Central Asia were among the topics discussed at the roundtable.
