On 11 December 2023, AVİM hosted a delegation from the United Arab Emirates composed of military personnel and civilians from governmental and non-governmental sectors. The UAE delegation was headed by Brigadier General Mahdi Alahbabi, who is also a professor at the National Defense College of the United Arab Emirates. At the meeting, AVİM members presented a summary of Türkiye’s strategic outlook and some of the core issues of the current Turkish foreign policy. A brief outline of AVİM’s concept of ‘Constructive Eurasianism’ was also presented. Türkiye’s relations with western and eastern actors; Türkiye’s role in NATO; the developments regarding the Russia-Ukraine war and the situations in the South Caucasus and the Middle East; prospects for regional cooperation and global and regional connectivity projects were some of the topics that were discussed during the Q&A.
