Tahiri said Kosovo should not allow Serbia to open the negotiations on exchange of territories. “Kosovo is reborn as country after 100 years. We have fought 100 years. We have not unified with Albania, which was our natural right. The independence was the compromise we chose. The International Court of Justice recognised it as legitimate. Over 100 countries have recognised us,” she said. According to Tahiri questioning these achievements of Kosovo means geopolitical failure and opens the way for returning Russian influence in Balkans. “Greater Serbia becomes reality by annexing northern Kosovo, because they have already a part of Bosnia’s territory. This will return Serbia’s hegemony and new destabilisation,” she said. Tahiri also advised the new negotiation team created by the Government to be well-prepared in the EU-facilitated dialogue with Serbia and advised them not to enter dialogue on swapping territories saying the final agreement between the two countries should include recognition of current borders.
