Periodically, the opposition, or the former government has tried to torpedo the current authorities by using tools and people, alike. Armen Grigoryan, Secretary of the Security Council of Armenia, said this in a conversation with journalists today.

"Many people have given in to that temptation (...), but have not succeeded," he said. “After being prevented, there were also dismissals. An investigation is underway at the moment; if necessary, criminal cases will be brought. "

Asked whether criticism being viewed as a coup attempt is an attempt at putting pressure, he said: "Criticism can never be perceived as grounds for a criminal case, or seen as a coup attempt."

The reporters inquired whether they were considering only fake news, or there were other facts, too. "Not only fake news, but there are other circumstances as well," Grigoryan responded.
