Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan today held a consultation devoted to the course of construction and future activities of the center for foreign economic activity in Gyumri, as reported the news service of the Government of Armenia.
Representatives of the State Revenue Committee reported that the center will fully start operating in 2022, construction works are underway, and a competition for the second phase of construction of the center has been declared. They stated that the center will operate under the ‘one-stop shop’ principle in order to organize the procedures for export and import for economic operators as smoothly as possible.
The participants of the consultation also touched upon the opportunities for development of the center for foreign economic activity, taking into consideration the international practice, as well as other activities envisaged in the future.
Prime Minister Pashinyan attached importance to the implementation of consistent activities for simplification of the procedures for export and import, ensuring of favorable conditions for business and reduction of the time limits for the provision of documents. “We need to do everything we can to ensure good conditions and opportunities for economic operators to work,” the Prime Minister said, emphasizing that the decision on construction of the center for foreign economic activity in Gyumri is of major and strategic significance. Pashinyan assigned to consider, under the chairmanship of Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan, all the opportunities that will help enhance the activities of the center and create much more favorable conditions for business.
