Other characteristics include "high-level dialogue and constant improvements," the Serbian first deputy PM and foreign minister said on Monday in Belgrade during his meeting with Envoy of the German Federal Foreign Office for South East Europe Kristian Helbach.

According to Dacic, quoted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs "bilateral relations have significantly improved in recent years, not only in the political but also the economic field," while "the volume of foreign trade last year reached around EUR 4 billion, with Germany as one of the biggest investors in Serbia."
Tere are more than 370 German companies in Serbia who employ 35,000 workers, the Serbian official said, adding that his country "wants to promote overall cooperation with Germany" and reiterating that it "provides a significant contribution to strengthening stability and cooperation in the region and will continue with its constructive policy in this direction."
Helbach "agreed and said that Serbia should be given to the most important role when it comes to stability and the promotion of cooperation in the region."
"Serbia is not only the largest and most important country, but also the country with the greatest potential and administrative and other capacities, primarily in the context of European integration," he said, according to the Serbian government.
It is very important for Germany that Serbia continues its constructive role, because the stability of the region is important both for Germany and for Europe, the German official said, and "pointed out that the Federal Republic of Germany highly appreciates the policy of Serbia towards migrants."
