Prime Minister Edi Rama declared this Wednesday that local elections were held on June 30, refusing to acknowledge President of the Republic of Albania, Ilir Meta's Decree, which set October 13 as date for local elections.

Rama added that Directorate of Socialist Party (SP), has engaged in a good start of local governance process, not forgetting to repeat that he is the Political Coordinator of Northern Albania, Chairman of SP's Parliamentary Group, Taulant Balla is the Political Coordinator of Central Albania and Speaker of the Parliament, Gramoz Ruci has taken over Southern Albania.

Furthermore, he proclaimed that to him, October 13 is the same as October 12, also underlined that on June 30 they won by law and rule of law.

"Elections were held on 30 June, we are very committed to starting the entire local government process in the northern region that is headed by me, in the middle region, led by the head of the parliamentary group, and in the southern region headed by the head of the Assembly. For me, October 13 is the same as the date 12, I do not even know what it is, it is likely to be Sunday... Our philosophy is not to rest on laurels, and it did not happen on 30 June, where we had the biggest win, that with the law and with the rule of law", stated Rama.
