The government of Armenia has approved the signing of the agreement on lifting the visa regime between Armenia and the People’s Republic of China on mutual bases for people travelling with ordinary passports. According to the agreement, citizens with ordinary or diplomatic passports of Armenia and Iran can stay maximum of 90 days in a given 180-day period in the territory of the other country without requirement of obtaining a visa.

As Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated at the Government sitting on Thursday the decision was obtained during his recent trip to China.

According to the government justification, Armenia and China are successfully cooperating in different international organisations.

The sides are interested in deepening the cooperation in different spheres, including in personal interactions and through promoting tourism. The decision will additionally promote trade relations, bilateral political relations and strengthening of mutual trust.
